A fox who deceived a crow

 

 

There was a crow who was lucky enough to get cheese.

 

The crow sat on a branch with delicious cheese in its mouth.

 

 

‘When shall I eat?’

 

 

The crow had a good time thinking about this and that.

 

At that time, a fox passing under a tree saw a crow.

 

 

'Oh, the crow is biting the delicious-looking cheese. I have to steal it and eat it.'

 

 

The fox came up with a trick to deceive the crow.

 

 

"Mr. Crow!"

 

 

The fox tilted his head toward the branch overhead and spoke to the crow.

 

 

"The crow sitting down is as cool as the king.  If it's the case, please sing a song in the king's voice."

 

 

The fox seduced the crow with fawning.

 

The crow felt good at the fox's compliment.

 

 

"Okay. I'll sing you a great song."

 

 

The crow opened its mouth wide to sing.

 

At that moment, the cheese that the crow was biting fell to the ground.

 

The fox immediately rushed in and picked up the cheese.

 

And he said to the crow.

 

 

"It would have been nice if he wasn't just like the king on the outside, but also had a smart head like the king...

That's too bad."

 

 

The fox grinned and disappeared as he ate the cheese.

 

 

 

 

까마귀를 속인 여우

 

 

운좋게 치즈를 얻게 된 까마귀가 있었습니다.

까마귀는 맛있는 치즈를 입에 문 채 나뭇가지에 앉았습니다.

 

‘언제 먹을까?’

 

까마귀는 이런저런 궁리를 하면서 기분 좋은 시간을 보냈습니다.

그때 마침 나무 아래를 지나던 여우가 까마귀를 보게 되었습니다.

 

'오, 까마귀가 맛있어 보이는 치즈를 물고 있네. 얼른 빼앗아 먹어 야겠다.'

 

여우는 까마귀를 속일 꾀를 생각해 냈습니다.

 

"까마귀님!"

 

여우가 머리 위 나뭇가지를 향해 고개를 젖히고 까마귀에게 말을 걸었습니다.

 

"까마귀님 앉아 계신 모습이 마치 임금님처럼 멋지네요.  기왕이면 임금님 목소리로 노래 한 곡 불러 주세요."

 

여우는 한껏 아양을 부리며 까마귀를 꾀었습니다.

까마귀는 여우의 칭찬에 기분이 좋아졌습니다.

 

"좋아. 멋진 노래를 불러 주지."

 

까마귀는 노래를 하기 위해 입을 크게 벌렸습니다.

그 순간 물고 까마귀가 물고 있던 치즈가 땅으로 떨어져 버리고 말았습니다.

여우는 곧바로 달려들어 치즈를 집었습니다.

그리고 까마귀에게 말했습니다.

 

"겉모습만 임금님 같을 게 아니라 머리도 좀 임금님처럼 똑똑했으면 좋았을텐데...

안타깝네요."

 

여우는 히죽히죽 웃고는 치즈를 먹으면서 총총히 사라졌습니다.
